Link Baiting, The Good, The Pretty Good and The Unforgiving.
By Geronimo Rubio

As Featured On Ezine Articles

Hey everyone. First I would like to say thank you to all my readers and visitors. We will all come together and make it happen for all of us in the long run, again thank you for all your support. OK, now on to the subject for today.Let’s talk about “Link Baiting” and what it is exactly.

Link baiting is, in simple terms, having a article or blog post worthy of being posted on another website by the owner of that website. As this happens, your link gets spread around from site to site and the readers of that site get a closer look at you and have found respect and trust in you because someone they trust have added you to their site. This is considered “Viral” marketing. It works well in forums or places where discussions are taking place about different topics or subjects. Link Baiting is sort of like “Fishing” (And I mean at the lake, not phishing peoples info). There are what we consider several different types of “Hooks” or “Lures” that make link baiting possible. This kind of marketing is also good to promote any product or niche you have a campaign on as well as Brand yourself along with it. This will eventually have a good or even great impact on your affiliate marketing business. So let me explain each one in detail: The Hooks:

The first “Hook” is called the “News Hook”:
If you read an article or news bulletin and do your research about that article and can disprove it ethically with facts and being respectful in doing so, then you can become an Authority Figure on the subject, thus, gaining trust and respect of your readers. Also I need to mention another form of “News Hook”. If you were to find an article or several that relate to your niche, make sure they are interesting and catch the attention of your readers and be the first to link to them, this also is a way to brand yourself and promote your niche, your affiliate marketing business.

The second “Hook” is called ‘Resource Hook”
This “Hook” is an exceptional one. The “Resource Hook” is a helpful article, post or resource that you, yourself write or give freely that helps your readers along in their life, whether it’s a recommended program, free software or tools or a list of other resources you have gathered yourself. As long as it is useful and helpful to your readers and possible consumers, and you give it freely, this will instantly boost your credibility and reputation amongst them. And you feel good to be able to help out others. And you will receive links back to your article and your site. Like I always say, “Giving is generosity that all people should practice”.

The third ‘Hook” is called “Humor Hook”
This hook is strictly for a niche or product you may have a campaign on. Lets say through your searching or reasearching you were to come across something extremely funny that relates to your niche. Like a picture, video or even an article. Posting this up on your site could gain you popularity because they say “Laughter is the healer of the Soul”, right. So now you post it up on your site and people are happy to see that not only are you a serious business person but you also have a sense of humor and they get a kick out of it enough to link back to you and your humorous post. This is where showing your personality builds your character.

The fourth “Hook” is called “Excited or Belief Hook”
If you find something that really gets you excited, makes you feel happy or changes your life. This is a hook that is easy to promote because you believe in the product. This is my favorite “Hook” because you feel good about what you are promoting. And if you feel good it will translate into your writings, trust me. Not just that but you can talk or write about it with conviction. It is the ultimate high feeling so good about something and being able to share it with your friends, readers and everyone. Knowing that you will help people is the ultimate reward. This will get your readers excited and you will again instantly gain respect, authority, trust and build your character as a person fast.

The fifth “Hook” is called “Comment Hook”
I like this one a lot as well as number 4. This “Hook” is a BIG respect hook to the author you post a comment to, which will get you your respect back. Thay say “To Get Respect you have to Earn it”, right. Well this is the way to earn it. Now don’t go spamming blogs, post or articles just to gain popularity. There is a ethical way to do this. If they have written about a niche or subject that relates to yours and it is a good article, then kool, go ahead and leave a comment telling them why you liked their article. You can, in some cases leave a link to an article that you have written or a way to get in contact with you. But spamming your information is not a good idea. What this will do for you is gain the respect of the people and the site for which you left your comment and most likely gain their interest and the interest of their readers as well. Pretty soon you may have your links on their website posted by them. Ahhhhh, the Ethics of online marketing and affiliate marketing. Feels good, doesn’t it.

These are the five I recommend. There are two others that I don’t recommend and if you use them, us them with extreme caution.

The sixth “Hook” is called “Attacking Hook”
This “Hook” can be dangerous and hurt you along the way. This is where you accuse or try to discredit an article or post about a niche or certain subject. When doing so you tell your readers and theirs that this article or post is basically a lie and/or a scam which could cause hard feelings between you and the author of that post. If you choose to go this route, I HIGHLY recommend that you do thorough research on the subject and make sure that what you say can be justified not just by you but others. Also you may create a mob of angry bloggers that could link back to negative posts.

And the seventh “Hook” is called “Contrary Hook”
I know that all of you have heard the term “According to Contrary Belief”. In other words, what many other people may believe and have written about but are not necessarily true or with holding certain information that can be critical or misleading to the readers. Well this is a form of that but through article and post writings. This is where you become very controversial in your article or post about someone else’s article or post. Either trying to disapprove it, disagree with it or simply saying they left out to much information as if to have their readers walking around with blinders on to hide what is lurking within the walls. Again, this is also a dangerous tactic and could hurt you. They say that “Honesty is the Best policy” but they also say “Good guys/girls finish last”. Get my point. I personally don’t believe that “Good guys/girls finish last” but be cautious. Controversy can also cause hard feelings. If you choose this route again, “DO YOUR RESEARCH”.

Link baiting is one of the most successful ways to promote yourself, your niche and gain trust, respect and authority amongst all people. It will benefit your online business and boost your affiliate marketing sales 300% and more. So remember that ethics, respect and research are all KEY factors in “Link Baiting” and that it is possible to hurt yourself as well as promote yourself with this type of marketing. Good luck in all your endeavors and always keep smiling. Peace and GOD speed.

Why Blogs or Blogging for Profits

Blogging for Profit has become one of the fastest growing industries in the world. It has produced major money for those who know how to write, research and develop a blog or article. But because it is so big there are 1,000’s and 1,000’s of blogs from users doing this and if your blog is not POPPING with some Authority, content and great advice or if you haven’t given people reason to trust you, branded your name in a gold plate, it is tough to get noticed for one and get that user to buy.

A unique look is very hard to accomplish as there are so many people using the templates like from Wordpress, blogger and so many other sites. And then there is the task of finding your Niche and becoming an expert on it when you do your write up. So the key to grabbing interst and and the attention of your readers and soon to be consumers is making sure your blog/article is well written and catchy.

If you can fill a unique need that no other web site does, you’ll be able to build a lasting readership among web surfers. Once you have discovered a niche, there’s still work to do, but finding your place in the blogosphere is the place to begin.

Every great blog starts with a great idea, and building a successful site without that brilliant idea will keep your site from reaching your expectations and goals. There are many great sites focused towards today’s bloggers, and the competition for attention within demographics is incredible. To make your blog stand out from the pack, you will need to create and offer something that no other or that very few other sites are currently offering. In other words, make your site much more impressive and attractive to your soon to be client’s and make them feel you within your project. One of my motos is “If you yourself would not buy from you, then why would you expect anyone else too”. It’s also best to sell things that you, yourself believe in.

One of the best ways to know where you should begin is to take a look at other sites where certian writters have got a big following. Read their articles and see how they lay down their content, which order it is in: Beginning, Middle, Ending. And how they make each article personal to themselves. I do warn you though, the competition is getting stronger and more creative so you will have a lot of work on your hands.

Many people agree that the web sites that do the best in today’s market are the sites that have the most personality. Making is personal to yourself as if you were really talking to the reader face to face. The blog surfers of the world really connect to the writter when personality is a key factor in the articles/blogs written.

Once you have a great idea for your site, have found your niche that you can connect with and that you are well equipped to fill, and have infused the site with personality, the next step is figuring out how to get the word out to bloggers. In the long run, a great idea just isn’t enough to propel your blog to success. You will need to draft a smart and realistic marketing plan in order to draw readers to your site. Once you hook a blogger, good content will keep them coming back, but it is vital to get that first glance or your site won’t have a chance to shine.

It is a task to make your blogs Rock-Solid because if they are not On The Top 10 Rankings in Google Like You Want It To Be… Then I recommend Atomic Blogging to help with making your site and writings POP!
It is a great way to learn all the tricks and what is happening out there today. Good luck in all your endeavors and GOD speed.

Article Marketing 101 – Class Is In Session

By: Bruce Swedal

The internet stores a massive amount of information and much of that is in text. To find quality content to return for search queries the search engines look for sites with test content and the more the better.

If you have ever wondered why your website is not receiving any traffic, you are probably looking for a way to increase it. Most webmasters on the internet are because they realize that traffic is what will make their site a success.

You should consider taking a two pronged approach to building links. The first method for building links is through submissions of your site to quality webs directories. Every link you get to your site is not only a vote in popularity, but also a doorway for traffic. Every quality link you can get through directory submissions will bring more relevance to your site.

How you can use article marketing.

The first way you can use article marketing is by going to article directories. If you can’t write your own unique content (which is preferred) for your site, you can use the content from article directories to place on your site for content as long as you retain the authors resource box. You need the content there for the search engines to spider when they visit through all the linking pathways you created when submitting your site to quality web directories.

As we covered the internet contains a massive amount of information and people search for it every day. The more links you have pointing to your site and the more content you have on it relevant to your sites niche, the better you will rank for search engine queries.

Another way to use article marketing is by writing your own unique articles on topics related to your websites niche and submit them for publication to the best article directories. These articles will create some links to your website to increase its popularity and with each link comes another doorway for traffic to find you.

When you write and publish these articles, you are also letting the public know you have expertise and knowledge on the subject. To get the reader’s attention, give them a quality, well written article filled with information.

Build links through quality directory submissions to increase your sites popularity and create doorways to traffic and search engines. Then use article marketing to provide quality on site content for the search engines to spider when they arrive. The more quality web directories you submit your site to, the more articles content you provide on your site and the more articles you submit for publication on article directories, the more search engines will love your site.

These are some of the key elements to creating traffic and building a successful website. You can have the best website on the internet, but without proper promotion your visitors will never find you. If they do not find you, they cannot use the services that you provide.

Now it is time to get started.

Driving Traffic With Articles: Secrets Your Competitors Hope You Never Learn

By: Srini Saripalli

Driving Traffic with Articles: Secrets Your Competitors Hope You Never Learn. If you’re the proud owner of a product or service oriented business, you’ve probably heard that you need traffic in order to get customers or clients. You’ve likely also heard that one really great and proven way to get loads of targeted visitors or traffic to your site is to write articles and distribute them. You’ve also heard that the more you write, the better off you’ll be. Although this is great advice for the serious business owner, there are several article writing and distributing secrets that you must know and follow to maximize your efforts. In this article, we’ll share these secrets with you so that you can take your article marketing to new levels.

1.Use your power. Article marketing will get you substantial traffic if you know what to do with the traffic once you get it. For instance, if you typically send your visitors to your home page that is convoluted with too many offers, your visitor might not do anything at all. Instead, you should consider sending them to a squeeze page where you make it clear that you’re looking for them to act now.

2.Leverage your visitors. Leverage your visitors and make sure that you get their name and email messages so that you can put them on your list. This can be done by requesting their information before they receive the information promised in the article. Then, when they leave their information, you will give them the promised information with a call-to-action squeeze page that offers a gift, e-book, download or something else. This will help you establish a positive relationship with your readers who will be more likely to buy from you in the future.

3.Spin and rewrite your articles. Don’t just submit your article to one place and say forget it. Instead spin it or rewrite it and submit it to several other places as well. This will help you get a tremendous amount of back links and will also get your extensive marketing as well.

4.Focus on higher PR directories. On the same token, concentrate on higher PR article directories for maximum exposure. This will ensure that you get higher search engine placements and you’ll have stronger back links as well. Plus, the search engines love those higher ranking links and will definitely take notice which could lead to more targeted leads and more business.

5.Use a resource box. Use your resource box to its full advantage. Most marketers don’t pay much attention to their resource box. Make sure that you do as a strong resource box will make visitors want to click to find out more information. Another tip is to always use back links in the resource box and then drive readers to a squeeze page where you can administer a hard-sell offer.

In conclusion, there are many tips for maximizing your article marketing efforts. By leveraging your visitors, getting their contact information, submitting several article versions, concentrating on higher PR directories, and using the resource box, you’ll soon discover the full advantages of this powerful marketing method.

Article Marketing Secrets And SEO Techniques

By: Peter Nisbet

You won’t find many article marketing secrets being given away online, because very few people properly understand the power of this internet marketing tool. It is more than simply a way of getting links back to your website, but a very powerful tool that if used properly can increase your sales to another level.

If are provided with ’secrets’ then they are well known by almost everybody. I will admit that even the ’secrets’ I am about to divulge are not secrets at all, but well known article marketing techniques. However, what I will also say is that the three provided here are neither appreciated nor used by all of even those that profess to be marketing ‘gurus’.

I know that because I have purchased many of their books and they don’t suggest what I suggest: I know my systems work and can prove it through my website listings. However I must stop because I am becoming dangerously close to advertising, but I have done so as to indicate about the maximum you can do on article directories to advertise yourself: and that is your free tip. Do not advertise in your articles if they are intended for submission. Leave that for your ‘author’s resource box’.

The most common purpose for people writing articles and offering them to directories for publication is to get those all-important back links from the directories. However, just stand back a bit and think why the directories are in existence. It is not for your benefit. It is not to provide you with a free means of improving your Google PageRank, but they exist to make money. And why not? Otherwise there would be no point in anybody offering an article directory to all of these online writers.

You don’t pay to have your articles published on the directories, so what is their purpose? How do these people make money? Two ways in fact: the first is by means of Adsense. If you do a search for an article on a specific topic, you will certainly find one because articles have been written on every topic on the planet. On the same page you will find Adsense ads. The reason for this is obvious and also psychological.

It is because most articles are not worth reading, and visitors generally have a quick look at them before leaving the directory site to seek proper information on their topic or niche. That is when they are liable to click on the Adsense ads and make money for the directory owner. That is added to the second way they make money which is from payment for speeding up the listing of the articles. You’ve seen the thing: get listed in several weeks or pay a few dollars for an instant listing. Like most other serious marketers, I pay.

Whichever means they use, article directories realize that it is to their advantage to get high search engine listings for as many articles as possible. They then have their sites visited by as many people as possible, and also have writers use them. That provides them with more visitors to click the Adsense ads and also as an inducement to other budding authors who might pay for listings. I don’t pay for a listing in a site that never has my articles in Google.

Here are three secrets or tips, that you can use in your own article marketing campaigns:

Secret #1 is that if you write the article on a topic related to the content of a page on your website, then the directory (and by that I mean the owner, but let’s call it ‘the directory’ for simplicity) will do all the SEO work and get your article listed so as to get as many visitors as possible. That earns them money. What that means to you is that you get free SEO done on your article.

Why do you think that your articles have to be of a minimum length and of a certain standard? To be listed by search engines, especially Google, that’s why. You can use this information to your advantage, but your articles must be at least 500 words. Your resource URL must be one related to the article, and if you make it your blog, that is even better. Place links on your blog to all your other relevant online ventures.

Secret #2 is not really a secret as a submission technique. When you have finished writing your article save it and submit it as a text file. Most people write using Microsoft word, or some other word processing software that uses their own formating code embedded in the article. You don’t see it, but the search engines do and it could harm the listing of the directory web page containing your article.

Secret #3 is that many sites offer two or three links in the author’s resource. That allows you not only to present links to two or three pages on your website, but also that these links need not all be from the same site. You could provide a link to a page relating to the article (as you always should), one to one of your other websites or Squidoo lens, and a third to your blog URL. Never ignore these possibilities. Open up your mind.

There are several more article marketing secrets that I could give you but that would render this article far too long. You might also require some elementary HTML instruction to provide you with a working knowledge: HTML, or hyptertext mark-up language, is not really a computer language but a means of linking text to files, and it can also be used to format text, graphics and tables on websites and any other medium that can read HTML and transfer it to the intended visual formating.

However, the above secrets are sufficient allow you to use them as SEO techniques that will improve your chances of a high search engine listing. Learn them and use them, and even if you think that they seem fairly elementary I bet my bottom dollar that nobody is using all of them in their article marketing campaigns, because most people are still thinking in mono as far as article marketing is concerned and have to reach the analogue stereo age let alone digital.

Get modern and look farther than you can see, or the internet kids will soon gobble you up for breakfast! Yesterday’s techniques are today’s tomorrow.

Author Resource:-> If you are interested in more of Pete’s article marketing secrets, and some of the best are to come, then visit his Squidoo lens at http://www.squidoo.com/SEOcious or perhaps his blog at http://www.howdoiwin.com/myblog where you will find more about his personal SEO philosophy. Pete suggests them in the above order for some reason. Me? I don’t care. I just want more ice cream!

Submitting Your Article To Article Directories: How To Select The Right Keywords

By: Ben Heart

It is not uncommon to hear the phrase “Content is King.” It is also not uncommon for internet marketers to tell you that, if you want to market your site well you need to write articles and to submit those articles to article directories.

The reasons for this are simple. By submitting articles to article directories, publishers of newsletters, ezines and blogs can use those articles on their websites. When your articles are used, you receive the credit for the writing and your resource box will direct readers of the articles back to your website.

Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

The truth of the matter is that submitting your articles to article directories will only benefit you if you make an effort to select the right keywords for your articles. If your article is written around a popular keyword that has nothing to do with the products or services that you offer, or if the keyword or keywords that are used have nothing to do with the text of your article, the article that you write will not be effective.

It is absolutely imperative that you choose the right keywords when you submit your article to article directories. Here are some points to consider when selecting the right keywords for your articles:

• Even though you want to use keywords that are relevant terms for search engines, you want to be sure that the keywords that you include in your text will not cause problems for your readers. The right keywords for articles that you write and submit to article directories will not only be relevant to the search engines but will also be relevant to your readers;

• Think about more than just your primary keyword; it can be beneficial to use more than one keyword or key phrase in articles that you write for submission to an article directory. For example, if your product or service fixes a problem, you will want to use a keyword focused on the solution and a keyword focused on the problem;

• Remember when you select your keywords that multiple word key phrases will make your article stand out more than a single keyword. As an example, if your site were to be focused on travel by boat, using the keyword “travel” would not necessarily bring you the specific traffic that you were looking for; and

• What, specifically, do you want to accomplish with the article that you are writing and submitting? Again, using the example of boat travel, what products or services does your company offer? What do you hope that readers will do after reading your article? If your goal is for the readers of the article to book boat travel from your site, be sure to include “booking,” “boat travel” or “travel by boat,” and possibly “booking boat travel” as your keywords.

When you select the right keywords for your article – even before you begin the writing process – you will be able to write an article with a specific end in mind. As a result, after you have submitted that article to an article directory, those publishers that are looking for content will have an easier time finding it.

When a publisher is looking for content in an article directory, he or she is looking for articles that his or her readers will want to read. By offering readers relevant content, that publisher establishes his or her reputation. Using appropriate keywords in the articles that you submit to an article directory, you will find that more publishers choose your content.

Therefore, as a result of selecting the right keywords for your article, you will get the increased publicity and name recognition that you are looking for, as well as promotion for your website.
