I know how traffic is. I live in Los Angeles, trust me, we know traffic…lol. But today we will be discussing a new type of traffic. The traffic on the highways of the net. And we will be revealing 1 way of pay traffic and 6 ways of generating free traffic to your site.So, you think we have traffic in Los Angeles, well it is nothing compared to the traffic flowing through the internet highways of today. Within all this traffic are millions, even billions of potential buyers for your services and products.

To start, we are going to assume that you already have a site or blog where your products or services reside. And we are also going to assume that the traffic you have been getting is very little if any. Now it’s time to show you the ways of 7 exciting highways to direct that traffic to your site.

Now here is the problem with traffic. Lets say your selling parts for foreign cars, directing traffic looking for dinner or lunch recipes would be senseless, right. So we must not only direct traffic to your site, but we need a targeted traffic specific to your merchandise.

This process will take time, but the end result is genuine and will make your business more successful than you have ever seen.

To help you out in generating more traffic for your site, here are some seven surefire ways to increase your traffic starting from yesterday.

1) Investing in good advertising with big search engines:

This is one that I rarely mention as I am trying to find the cheapest if not free way for my readers to accomplish their goals. But they say “It takes money to Make Money”. Google with it’s program called Adwords and Yahoo’s with it’s program called Overture provide excellent ways to advertise. These two companies (Being two of the Largest) have provided these services to help the beginner to the more advanced business or marketer create mega profits if done correctly. This way of traffic building will cost money for sure, but it will get you exact, pen-pointed traffic to your site of consumers (more likely than not) ready to purchase. Profits guaranteed if performed and executed correctly. With research, trial and a few errors, eventually you will succeed. There are lots of free tools at these sites and on the net to help you do your research.

2) Link Exchange or Trade

This is the old clitche “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours”. Basically you will go to other websites that have similar products or services and ask if they would be willing to put your link on their site in trade with you putting theirs on your site. It is also good to go to free submission directory sites and give your link to them in the closes matching category to your products or services. Some of the directories cost money but in some cases they will want you to put their link on your site, a reciprocal link is what it is called. Same story, although this could end up cluttering up your site a bit so you should build a section especially for them. I know I know…I should as well…lol.

3) Viral Marketing or Link baiting

I have talked about this a lot lately, probably because it is one of the best ways of FREE advertising I have ever used. Viral marketing allows you to spread the word about your company and product without any costs or if ever low costs only. Sometimes it will be sneaky and sometimes it’s just because of your great content I have told you repeatedly to create. You can upload a video, game or what ever to a site with certain keywords or keyword phrases embedded within the description. In some cases you can even leave a link back to your site, this is the sneaky way. The other way which is ethical is to create that great article, newsletter, Post a comment, useful or helpful information and watch it spread like a virus. People will love the information in the body of your text or writings so much they link it to their own site letting their readers know about you and where to find you. They will even send the word out to their close friends and family. Trust me, this works.

4) Proper keywords or keyword phrases within your sites content

This is a search engines wet dream. Using proper SEO content within your website. Not only does it bring targeted traffic to your site, it will also turn Google or any major search engine “ON”. Which in turn will qualify you for their special ranking upgrades. You will gain respect from these search engines because your following their rules and your properly advertising the way it should be with proper ethics.

5) Article Writing and submission

Articles are a great form of viral marketing and also creating back links to your site. EzineArticles.com is one of the most popular site to do this with. I also use GoArticles.com and RhinoArticle.com for my submissions. Great article writing will explode you into the world and at the same time Brand you as a authority in the filed your writing about. This does however require lots of good research. For it is good practice to know your products or services before ingaging in a article writing frenzy.

6) Forums, Social Networks, Video Sites and Social Bookmarking

Places like MySpace, FaceBook, Digg, Del.ico.us, YouTube, Mixx, Reddit, DigitalPoint Forums, SEOChat are places of interest to me. I use all of these places to market myself and my products and services. It also brands you and creates respect for you as a person. You also make good friends, great network buddies and meet Gurus in the industry with great information. Ethics, Ethics and more Ethics are recommended here. No one like SPAM and it will cost you more than you will ever know. Respect, helpful, courteous and a good ear are all traits that will excel you into success in this genres of advertising.

7) Last but not Least, Newsletters

A monthly or weekly Newsletter from you to your audience will create interest in you and your site for a very long time. Keeping people up to date and in the loop of your life and the life of your business is always good because it creates a personal relationship with all your people.
